Katherine Sherbrooke

Guest Speaker

An English major at Dartmouth College, Kathy had always dreamed of writing fiction. Fearing a lack of artistic genius, she instead went to Stanford Business School and co-founded a VC-funded company called Circles, where she served as President and then CEO from 1994 to 2009. After overseeing the acquisition of Circles by a major multi-national company, Kathy reignited her original dream and finally sat down to write. She published a family memoir in 2011, and in 2016, at the age of 49, published her first novel, Fill the Sky, a story inspired by a life-changing women’s retreat in Ecuador.

But of course, this transition wasn’t nearly as clear-cut as it sounds.

Kathy will join us to share the story behind the story—what major career transition looks and feels like, why it’s so hard, and what to do when you feel stuck. For more on Kathy and her writing: www.kasherbrooke.com
